We have come back home from the wonderful trip you organised for us, and we wanted to thank you for fully fulfilling our expectations. Actually, it all exceeded them. Botswana is an amazing place that surprised us so many times!
The car was perfectly prepared for all possible needs and emergencies. I think we used every tool and appliance that we had, most of them the very first day already… 🙂 We have mastered the hi-lift and changing tyres, thanks to the generator we never ran out of electricity, and inflating or deflating the tyres was nice and easy. We even put the sat phone to use — and got an answer straight away, despite the late hour. We were very happy with the roof tents and the beddings inside, warm and comfortable, even though it was pretty cold outside at night.
Then there is the Land Cruiser 79 itself. Anyone who knows the shape knows you cannot date one by looking at it — the papers said 2019, the bodywork says… 1979 🙂 The joke landed properly in Kasane, where we walked into the Toyota store and found the very same models with year of manufacture 2026. Four decades of changing nothing, because there is nothing to change — it is exactly right for the conditions you have. We liked it so much that we immediately started thinking of buying one.
Our favourite camping was definitely Hippo Pools. We were visited by an elephant one night and then scared by a hippo another time — peaceful is not the word, it was amazing and totally wild 😀 At first we thought the campings would gradually get more hardcore, but it was the other way round — all the way to Boteti with its amazing chefs and views over the river.
The whole TRAVEL ADVENTURES team was super professional and helpful — if something needed sorting, it got sorted. The training was excellent, and even though we had off-road experience, the guys still managed to get us stuck in the sand (on the third loop) 🙂 They were responsive no matter the day of the week or the hour.
We wanted to pay you the biggest respects for how well the trip was organised and how much it suited our expectations. We wanted to do a round trip to get to know Botswana and find out where we would like to come back in the future. There are definitely places yet to explore and animals yet to see, so it surely wont be the last time we visit this beautiful country. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to drive ourselves wild! 🙂

We had an incredible Botswana adventure and would like to thank Jen and the Travel Adventures team for all the effort that went into organising our trip. The vehicle was excellent, reliable, comfortable, and very well-equipped for overlanding. Socks and the team were friendly and professional, and the thorough handover gave us the confidence for our first time overlanding. From the magnificent Okavango Delta to the wildlife-rich Savuti region and a beautiful Chobe sunset cruise, every part of the journey was memorable. We encountered a variety of road conditions along the way, and the vehicle handled them all with ease. We only scratched the surface of Botswana's remarkable landscapes and wildlife and are already looking for ways to return. We would happily recommend your team to anyone planning a self-drive adventure in Botswana.
At the end of our recent visit to Botswana we, a party of 3, added a few days on our own in a 4x4 from Travel Adventure Botswana (TAB).
It fitted our needs perfectly to include also the travel where we were the masters of our own schedule.
That said, we had valuable input and great assistance with park permits, camping locations and day trip booking from TAB. TAB & Jen's service was impeccable.
All in all it was An Adventure trip with the right amount of challenges to make it really memorable one.
We aim for a longer self drive next time.
If you are looking to rent a solid/robust car, that wont leave you in tough situations in the many unpredictable Botswana roads, look no further. We rented a Land Cruiser for our 10 day Safari trip and were satisfied. The communication and itinerary planning with Jen from reservation was smooth from the beginning. Also the support from the team during the trip was top notch ! The vehicle is fully equipped including SAT phones and jerry cans, which a lot of companies charge extra. The only minor issue was that some of the cooking pots were quite old and greasy, but that was just a minor inconvenience in a overall absolutely perfect trip. So would definitely book again and can only recommend.
Last summer, we decided to take a road trip through Botswana and Namibia with our daughter and son-in-law. As we’d been very happy with the service when we hired a Land Cruiser from Jen at Travel Adventures two years ago, I got in touch with her straight away. Together, we planned an itinerary that suited our needs and budget. We alternated between sleeping in rooftop tents and staying in lodges. The exchange of ideas and communication in general went very well. During our trip, it became clear that everything had indeed been perfectly organised. However, a week before setting off for Botswana, we found out that the first part of the journey was not possible due to flooding. Fortunately, Jen was able to rebook us at other beautiful sites, where we witnessed the migration of hundreds of zebras and wildebeest. The Land Cruisers handled the terrain with ease, the tents were comfortable and we saw an incredible number of animals while driving through beautiful landscapes. It was an unforgettable experience.

Its now already one month ago since we returned back to Switzerland. The daily routine has taken over again and yet, we still allow our thoughts to wonder off back to africa.
We really enjoyed our stay in Botswana and were very happy with the services of Travel Adventure Botswana. Everything was well organised, starting from the friendly E-Mail contact with Jen, your travel offer and final bookings, the detailed handover of the vehicle in Maun, the condition of the vehicle and the drop-off in Kasane.
We also felt very safe and appreciated the detailed info booklet and the 24 hour back-up should problems arise.

We have recently returned home after an incredible trip to Botswana with precious memories that will last a lifetime. We hope that we will be fortunate to return to this extraordinary country in the next couple of years as our travels allowed us some incredible wildlife experiences, had us travelling through some incredible landscapes and the opportunity to meet some amazing people. There is a saying that it is not about the destination but the journey which beautifully summed up our travels.
We loved our vehicle that we hired from Travel Adventures Botswana and it did not skip a beat on our 1,000 km journey. It was so reassuring knowing that we had such a well-maintained and mechanically robust vehicle when we headed into the Kalahari region along with very sturdy and capable tyres. We had pre-arranged to meet Kasane Airport at 11:00 am for the hand-over of the vehicle and right on time, our vehicle arrived. We truly appreciated the comprehensive hand-over by Alpious who was incredibly patient, thorough and kind and answered all our queries and at no stage did we feel we were under any time constraints. We also appreciated the flexibility of our return time in Maun and the opportunity to meet Tshepho who again arrived at the agreed time and conducted a very thorough and prompt return check. The vehicle was so well equipped that there was nothing that we needed and it was so reassuring knowing that we had a sat-phone in case of an emergency. A big thank you to the Team for loading the GPS with our destinations along with a paper print-out - this was so thoughtful and kind and saved us so much time and possibly difference of opinions😆.
Finally a big thank you goes to Jen who was our initial contact for her professionalism, follow-up, suggestions, recommendations and answering my silly questions. She truly along with Alphious and Tshepho are wonderful ambassadors for Travel Adventures Botswana.
The time spent in the bush was amazing. Our Driver Training instructor told us all the things that were very helpful to us during the 8 day journey. A week in the bush really changes a man/woman.

First of all, we just say thank you for the huge support and how well everything worked and was organized. I have been many times in the southern Africa, but it was the first time in Botswana and the first time with a 4x4 and a roof tent.
You guys gave us great support before the trip when I had crazy ideas with our itinerary and you made eventually our honeymoon to an unforgettable experience.
The handover and the driver training were very helpful and professional. The equipment was also perfect and the documents as well. It was very helpful that you organized a person who helped us on the border to Zimbabwe, I think without this help it had last ages to pass the border.
It was also good to know we have a satellite phone with when we struggled to the mud on the way to third bridge.
We wish the whole team a great new year and thank you again and we hope it last not very long to start another amazing experience with you together.
We did 17 nights of 4x4 self driving safari with combination of camping and a stay in lodges from time to time with Travel Adventures and we couldn’t be any happier!
Our itinerary was perfectly planned with enough time to explore the beautiful national parks of Chobe, Moremi and N‘xai/Makgadikgadi. The lodges were well chosen with amazing food and beautiful accommodation.
Our car was perfectly equipped and we got a lot of jealous comments from other campers who rented their car from other companies…
Last but not least, the people at Travel Adventures were super friendly and knowledgeable. Driver training was fun and informative.
Every question or problem was solved immediately and we felt in good hands all the time.

We are still totally blown away by how brilliantly our July 24 Botswana trip went, thanks to Travel Adventures exemplary service.
Twelve of us from UK had three of the self-drive Toyota Land Cruisers for a twenty-day camping trip, taking us from Maun up though Moremi and Kasane and then back round and up to the Okavango Delta, with lots of side trips, adventurous rough roads and some great camp sites. The abundant wildlife and quietness of some of the locations was amazing.
Right from the first enquiry Travel Adventures were very professional, responding quickly and concisely to every query, helping with so much of the trip planning and site bookings.
The handover of the vehicles at the beginning was really thorough and professional but at the same time friendly and helpful. The hand back at the end was equally well done.
The vehicles themselves were just great; a pleasure to drive and travel in, definitely up to the job. The camping kit on the trucks was of excellently rugged quality and very comprehensive. Everything we need was there. We could hardly fault anything. Despite the trucks being kitted out with so much useful gear, there was still plenty of space for our personal bags and all the provisions. Nicely chilled beer around a campfire at the end of the day was a real pleasure.
This type of self-drive holiday, in wonderful Botswana, definitely falls into the ‘trip of a lifetime’ category and we would all absolutely recommend Travel Adventures to anybody thinking of doing it.

We had the trip of a lifetime! Thank you to Travel Adventures who made us feel safe whilst helping us create the most thrilling adventure for our family (four children aged 11, 9, 7 and 5). Everything was organised so well and the equipment was the best quality and vehicles so reliable. We cannot wait to come back!
Firstly, as a novice to roof top 4x4 camping and a first time visitor to Chobe, Khwai and Moremi....I don't think I could have chosen a vehicle that was as robust and reliable as the Toyota your team provided. The roads are intimidating to say the least, but as each kilometre passes, the confidence as the driver is only matched by the enthusiasm of the vehicle to grapple the next piece of the challenging terrain. At the end of the day and the start of the next, the camping equipment supplied is the absolute bate minimum yet everything you could possibly need. It's so well thought out and so simply stored, it makes pack out and pack up a dream.
Lastly I must mention Alphious who did the vehicle handover and the crash course in all facets of the vehicle, its features and supplies. His patience, extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for the trip ahead was so well received. Please send him our heartfelt thanks.

An experience of a lifetime had by all in our group to Chobe and Moremi National Parks in Botswana. It was Incredible , the wildlife, the African bush , the sunsets and the 4x4 experience was absolutely fantastic.
Special thanks to 4x4 Travel Adventures team for their very personal touch, especially Kay who took care if all our bookings and Sammy for his guidance and expertise with the vehicle hand over . The Hi-Lux was very well equipped for all our camping needs. We will definitely plan another tour with Travel Adventures.

We are completely satisfied with the service. Everbody was helpful and efficient and the vehicle, gear and rooftop tent were in very good condition. Receiving and returning the vehicle was smooth and without problems, we received a very comprehensive introduction to all the gear and features. Our guide Max was excellent and we just had a great time camping together for 7 days though Moremi, Savuti and Chobe. Very recommendable!
